Two ways to make profit with Bet-Pal

Bet-Pal is a powerful trading utility for the people who want to make up their own trading strategy on BetFair. Bet-Pal let you key in your bets and then let the software do them automatically, without your actual presence and on multiple markets at a time!

Ideal for businessmen who can't do the trading at day time, for betting on night-time markets or events with different time zone.

Normally your bets will be matched as prices move frequently, but in case they are not or matched partly, then Bet-Pal will re-bet the unmatched portion as soon as the event starts.

With soccer matches when a team scores a goal the market gets suspended. No worries, Bet-Pal will bet again as soon as "suspended" label goes off from the market. You don't have to remake your bets manually!

Below are simple examples of how you can generate stable profit with Bet-Pal.

1. Off-Set Betting

You must create a new scenario. In the window for creating a new scenario, having selected the market you want to trade in, watch the prices that belong to each selection (you may refresh them pressing a special button on the panel - it is listed in the help file). Say the situation is as follows:

You can trade in any type of currency that is allowed at BetFair.

The first selection is obviously a favourite. It is worth to try off-set betting on it. You should key in - for instance - 1.6 into a "Back Price" cell and 1.58 into a "Lay Price" cell. Back and Lay Amounts should be equal, for example 4 GBP.

Right-click on the "Price" or "Amount" columns. You will see a list of "quick-ticks". Clicking on oneof them you'll adjust the prices so that either Lay price will be lower than current Back price, or Back price will be higher than current Lay price. It's done in order to secure some profit no matter if the selection wins or loses (in simple terms: you buy cheaper and sell at a higher price).

You may clear all the other selections so far - you do not necessarily have to trade all the selections. If you want to clear all pre-set bets, right-click on the "Price" column of the appropriate side (either Back or Lay) and press "Clear All".

Let's key in our first bet. We must specify the price, amount and type of our bet. The prices that you see in the center of the window (titled "BF Back" and "BF Lay") are informative. Specify your own price & amount. In our example let's set "Lay 4 GBP @ 1.53". Click on Arsenal's row and enter the values.

To get rid of the pop-up box with values click on any empty row (the area without selections).

Press "Enter". Right-click on the Back "Price" column and choose "+3 ticks". The prices will be incremented 1.51+3 ticks - that is 1.54. Press "Enter" again. Your first bet is specified!

Now save your first scenario (click on the "Save" button). We're ready to go!

Press "Start Scenario" green button, and Bet-Pal will immediately place the bets that you keyed in (in our case Back 4 GBP at 1.54 and Lay 4 GBP at 1.53). Only that selection will be highlighted and showing some figures. You will see how much is unmatched. Ideally both your stakes will match eventually and you'll secure profit if a selection wins or lose nothing if it loses (1.54-1.53)*4 = 0.04 GBP.

In order to obtain profit no matter it wins or loses you may key in Back 10 GBP at 1.6 and Lay 10.1 GBP at 1.58. his way you'll get around 0.6*10 - 10.1*0.58 = 0.15 GBP if the selection wins and 10.1 - 10 = 0.1 GBP if it loses.

To obtain equal profit regardless of the outcome use a simple proportion: Back Amount * Back Price = Lay Amount * Lay Price.

2. Winner Betting

This is the second strategy. The other one is related to winner betting. The main purpose is to wait until a definite winner displays itself and back on it.

You create a new scenario and key in lay all selections at 1.01 (lay amount is say 10 GBP).

Then you press "Save" and check "Enable Winner Betting". Winner edge - let it be 1.05, loser edge - 6.0, Back amount - the same 10 GBP as for laying all selections.

When a team scores a goal a market is normally suspended. Bet-Pal will re-bet all the unmatched stakes (or their portions) as soon as the market is released for betting again.

In the end of the game only one selection's bet will match Lay at 1.01. It will be the winner. In the same time the same selection will be Backed at 1.05 (when it's priced 1.05 or lower and all the other selections are priced greater than 6.0). This way you'll get guaranteed profit of (1.05-1.01)*10 GBP = 0.4 GBP.

If you are not sure that you'll be fast enough to match your back stake at 1.05, check "Take Best Price if unmatched". In this case if the winner's price moves lower than 1.05, your stake will be matched at the best available price.
